i want to be home.

i would like to be the 5 o’clock hour you look forward to on the weekdays.
and i want to be the saturday plans you’ve made two weeks prior.
i would like to be the sunday morning coffee
you sip slowly from your cup
and close your eyes,
thinking how something so bitter
can have a such a smooth finish.
and on new year’s eve, i’d like to be your midnight kiss
and your fresh beginning on new year’s day.
when you’re riding the train from work
i want to be that place of comfort
a four-walled paradise you call home.
