coming and going
like the tide
she is unattainable yet irresistible.
the curvature of her hips,
much like the way the waves roll to shore,
send men at sea tossing about.
they try to bottle her up, collect treasures from her depths
to boast they’ve caught a piece of her.
and once they think they’ve snagged her in their nets
she pulls them under
along with their pride
filling lungs with water
and teaching them it’s best to leave a daughter of mother nature
