nighttime masquerade.

Most fear the night,

Its inky black skies and shadowy figures playing tricks on the eyes.

People afraid of what they cannot see.

But I get anxious for daybreak

When the sun’s rays stretch across the earth,

Everything illuminated by the brilliant light but also validating

for we can play whichever part we desire when nobody asks your name or if that’s your real eye color.
