shifting gears.

as I accelerated to a speed no normal human would be comfortable with,
it was, in many ways, a release, a swan song.
scenery blurred into lines of color
as I drove faster and played chicken with the Reaper.

do your best to add me to your menagerie.
I have trekked to the edge more times worth remembering
and it all comes back to beating the odds,
coming out as a warrior,
and driving on.

      1. Well, honestly, as passionately as that was written then… Driving fast is risky and you really should find another outlet… Have you tried running around the block? Good way to escape and also good for health!

      2. Haha, I have! I’m actually an avid runner. I don’t drive nearly as much as I used to since I’m all about public transportation. In fairness, your statement is quite accurate and yes, driving fast IS risky. But I think I’ve made a couple of mistakes in life that are reflected in the pieces I right. A lot of my posts are from old notebooks I’ve kept throughout the years. I just find a lot inspiration from past/present elements of my life. πŸ™‚

      3. Yes, this particular post is a reflection on a high school memory. A lot of my stuff on relationships is also about past experiences that I reflect on for inspiration on future pieces. The actual longer posts are written about my current life. πŸ™‚ Sorry for the confusion!
