Ever since I can remember,
I have badgered my mother about my IQ.
Unrelenting and always displeased
with her smart answer of
“Oh, it’s very high. I think it’s a 7”,
I asked her why she chose not to reveal this number to me.
“Because that number alone means nothing.
What matters most
is using that intelligence for the greater good,
defining yourself by a myriad of good qualities,
not just a high IQ.”
I don’t know what her IQ is,
but, in my eyes,
she is the most intelligent being breathing air.
