closure.

it is easier said than done,
to walk away without closure,
an event permanently punctuated with a question mark.
while everyone else seems to move freely,
you just keep walking in circles,
hoping they’ll find you by the trail of breadcrumbs you’ve left for them,
a vicious cycle of faulting ourselves and trying to figure out
what we did wrong.
and one day, it just lifts.
it’s nothing anybody says or does.
it’s not by the grace of God that you magically snap out of it.
one day, you just wake up,
tired of the interrogation you’ve been exposing yourself to
and you walk out your door
toward a brand new beginning.
it is easier said than done,
but it’s that simple.
